Filmed in the style of direct cinema, eschewing a voice-over narration and interviews, LVIV DIARY presents a poignant portrayal of everyday life in Lviv, a city in Western Ukraine during the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war. Made by Hong Kong filmmakers unfamiliar with Ukrainian language and culture, the film presents an exercise in empathy, compassion and solidarity across cultures.
