Synopsis

Carmen, a university student of Hong Kong-Filipino descent, has always strived to maintain a Westernized façade. To fit into a middle-class family where she tutors, she falsely claims that her mother is American. Her efforts pay off when she gains the affection of her employer, Mrs. Chung, who offers to recommend her for a coveted internship. However, Carmen's carefully constructed world shatters when she stumbles upon Mrs. Chung's secret, leading to an irreparable situation. Carmen is forced to re-examine herself and confront her own identity.
